New Toy: Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS

A few days ago, UPS delivered one of the newest additions to my bag of goodies! I finally took the plunge and decided to splurge on this beautiful piece of glass! Let me tell you, this is one big, heavy and pricey lens! In exchange, I sold my Canon EFS 60 Macro, Canon 70-200 f/4L and Sigma 15 Fisheye to help cover the cost. It was hard to say goodbye to my trustworthy lenses, but this is a purchase that's well worth the price! I'm so excited to use it this weekend for a photo session with Gigi's family!

FYI: Canon is having their big rebate sale on select products between May 18-July 19 if you're thinking about investing in some new glass! Now is a good time to update your gear!

Family Session: The Su Family

Photobucket

When my sister and brother in-law asked me to take family pictures of my niece and nephew on my trip to Vancouver, I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity since the kids are growing up so fast! My little niece Lauren, 6, and I are so close because I helped take care of her when she was just a baby. Then, when her little brother Marcus, 3, was born I was able to witness his birth! I love these kids like they're my own, and I have so much fun with them everytime I get to see them :)

We were blessed to have such nice weather in Vancouver during our visit, the Su family decided to go to Queen Elizabeth Park for their photo session.

The family started with three..

Then it became a family of four :)

Young Marcus is growing up fast and he says the darnest things!

Auntie Cathy with Lauren and Marcus, I love you both so much! You two are my most favorite little people in the world <3 href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_SpG2qRds0rs/SDmqw4bSQ7I/AAAAAAAABQM/RJ0uGN6E1-0/s1600-h/SuFamily-89.jpg">

E-session: Christine + Mike

I have known Christine and Mike since 1999 when we were all first year students at Simon Fraser University. One of the many things in common for Christine and Mike is that both of them are currently professional students at the University of British Columbia. Christine is in Pharmacy, and Mike is getting his Ph.D in Microbiology and Immunology. Together, they make a smart couple who's not only perfect for each other, but they're cute too :) And we're so excited that they're finally getting married on July 26th! Unfortunately, Randy and I won't be able to attend their wedding in Vancouver :(

Congratulations to the both of you, we wish you all the happiness in the world! It was fun doing the E-session and hanging out like old times, I hope you enjoy the photos we took!

Vancouver Momentos

Randy and I got back to Frisco 2 days ago and I went back to work the same night of our arrival :( I'm working a total of 6 night shifts (4 more to go) so I'm trying to manage my time after work to edit the pictures so I can post them!

On the second day of our trip, I was so excited to see my friend Mabeth! She's just simply the best hairdresser and friend that I know! Ever since I moved to SF about 3 years ago, I've had a total of 2 haircuts. I usually wait until I make a visit to Vancouver so Mabeth can work her magic on me :) Even if I have to have a haircut once a year (or less), it's all worth it because I can put my total trust in her talent! Now the only hard part is being able to style my own hair as good as she can do it!

If you live in Vancouver and you want a new stylist who does an awesome job, then visit Textura Hair on West 4th! Ask for Mabeth, she's the owner of the salon :)

After my hair appointment, Randy and I met up with my best friend Emmers

And of course we had to hit up my FAVORITE Greek Restaurant, "Sympatico" for the mouth watering "sweet basil spareribs" that I always rave about!!! There is never a missed opportunity to eat at this authentic greek restaurant! I'm salivating by just looking at this picture, it tastes soooo good!!

Then on the last day of our trip, something funny happened to us...we found a lost chihuahua in our friend's neighborhood when we were about to leave! Being good samaritans, we walked around the block to see if anyone had lost their 4 legged friend! At one point, we were thinking of bringing it to the SPCA, but luckily it belonged to one of the neighbors and they didn't even know he was missing! He was so cute and well tamed that I would have brought him home with me :(

Hello from Vancouver!

Well, it's been 4 days since we've been home and another 2 days to go! I've been out everyday so it's been hard to find time to update my blog. I did an engagement session and a family session yesterday, so I'll be blogging those when I get back!

It's always soooo nice to be back so we can hang out with our friends, spend time with family, and eat AWESOME food! Luckily, the weather has also been gorgeous and hot like summer :)

Be patient, and I'll have my photos from this trip by the end of the week!

Boudoir Session: Hot & Sexy

Liz and I have been talking about a photo session since sometime last year! Well, 2 days ago we finally got together and did a sexy boudoir session at my home studio. This type of intimate photography is usually done as a gift for your significant other. Typically, it's a groom's wedding gift, a birthday present, or just because you want to for a special occasion :)

I got Liz's permission to post some of her "conservative" pictures from the session. Enjoy!
